Thangalaan is a historical action-adventure movie directed by Pa Ranjith. Chiyaan Vikram portrayed the role of a tribal leader along with Malavika Mohanan, Pasupathy, Parvathy Thiruvothu, Daniel Caltagirone, and Harikrishnan Anbudurai. The film was released by Jyoti Deshpande and KE Gnanavel Raja under the Jio Studios, Neelam Productions, and Studio Green banners. Junglee Music has bagged the audio rights for Thangalaan.

The makers dropped the film’s trailer on July 10, 2024. It received hundreds of thousands of views on YouTube within a few minutes. This 2-minute and 9-second trailer is available in Tamil, Telugu, Hindi, Malayalam, and Kannada languages.
The online streaming rights were acquired by the Netflix platform, and it is scheduled to premiere on September 20, 2024, in multiple regional languages.

On Vikram’s 57th birthday, the makers released a special behind-the-scenes video as a tribute to the actor. The video shows the hardcore efforts that Vikram has made to become the Thangalaan (Son of Gold). This video made the fans fly high as a kite, as it shows Chiyaan Vikram’s one of the best performances.
Thangalaan release issues were resolved after Jio Studios collaborated with Studio Green. So, the release date announcement will be made soon.

Story
The film is set between the years 1870 to 1940, and it will be a briefing about the evolution of Kolar Gold Fields (KGF). The British officers commit genocide to snatch the tribal lands to mine gold. How the tribal leader fights to get justice for his people is the main crux.
