The Story Behind Stick Season 1
Pryce Cahill was once a rising star in the world of professional golf. Twenty years ago, it looked like he had it all. But his career hit a wall early, and since then, life hasn’t been too kind. These days, he’s divorced, out of work after getting fired from a sporting goods store in Indiana, and pretty much stuck in neutral.
Then he meets Santi, a 17-year-old golf prodigy with raw talent and a whole lot of attitude. Santi is brilliant on the course but clearly battling some demons off of it. When Pryce sees him play, he’s reminded of the young athlete he used to be. Even though he’s far from the spotlight now, Pryce decides to bet everything on Santi’s future.
What unfolds is a heartfelt and funny story about two people who need each other more than they realize. Pryce becomes Santi’s mentor, even though he has a lot to learn himself. Along the way, they form a bond that neither of them expected, while trying to navigate the intense, competitive world of junior golf. The series also dives into the relationships they build with others around them, creating a new kind of family in the process.
