Hiphop Tamizha Adhi is an Indian music director, playback singer, and actor who predominantly works in the Tamil film industry. He co-founded the Hip-hop Tamizha musical group with his childhood buddy R Jeeva. They pioneered Tamil hip-hop in India with his debut album track Club Le Mabbu Le and later he used the song in his first movie Meesaiya Muruku. Did You Know?
- After hearing HipHop Tamizha’s Clube Le Mabbu Le music, Remy Martin, the international brand announced Adhi as its official brand ambassador.
- Adhi developed a passion for hip-hop after his neighbour played him Michael Jackson’s single Jam. In the tenth grade, he began writing and uploading his own rap songs online.
- Adhi and Jeeva formed their musical group HipHop Tamizha in 2005.
- Adhi launched a YouTube channel named HipHop Tamizha, following the positive feedback he received from the public. For his YouTube channel, he used the picture of Tamil poet Subramania Bharati as his profile picture to keep his pursuits hidden from his parents. His father initially opposed his passion but later started supporting him after witnessing his success.
- In 2013, Adhi collaborated with Remy Martin on an international album titled International Tamizhan, featuring eight tracks. Two of the songs were performed by American artists Sol and Emcee Call, but due to some reasons, the album’s release was delayed.
- In 2016, Adhi released a music video Takkaru Takkaru that celebrates the Tamil sport Jallikattu to support the campaign to legalize the thousand-year-old sport. He also participated in the 2017 protests against the Jallikattu ban.
